About Gold March Sports

Developing Athletes. Empowering Coaches.

Building Better Systems.

Gold March Sports was founded on a simple belief: every athlete deserves access to high-quality development opportunities, regardless of where they live, the school they attend, or the resources available to them.

From community youth programs and rural high school gymnasiums to NCAA Division I training facilities and international athletics, the principles of effective athlete development remain remarkably consistent.

What changes is the environment in which those principles must be applied.

Our mission is to bridge that gap — translating high-performance knowledge into practical, accessible, and sustainable solutions for athletes, coaches, schools, and communities.

Greg Halberg

Founder & Director | Gold March Sports

Greg Halberg brings more than three decades of experience spanning youth athletics, physical education, athletic administration, collegiate strength and conditioning, and international high-performance coaching.

His professional background includes work with the International Performance Institute (IPI) at IMG Academies, where he was part of a staff that revolutionized athletic performance training across tennis, football combine preparation, baseball, soccer, basketball, and golf, working with youth through elite professional athletes

At Central Michigan University, Greg served as Director of Strength and Conditioning and assisted with the university's track and field program. He directed physical preparation for more than 450 NCAA Division I athletes across 14 sports, integrating strength, speed, power, and performance development into diverse competitive programs.

His commitment to developing young athletes has also extended directly into the community. In Port Angeles, Washington, Greg coached youth athletes and founded the North Olympic Track Club, creating a locally rooted initiative for youth athletic development.

He subsequently served as Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher at Neah Bay High School, working in a small, predominantly Native American community with a strong athletic tradition. During his tenure, Neah Bay teams earned three girls basketball state championships and multiple other state-level honors.

That experience reinforced a central lesson: small schools possess extraordinary strengths, but face distinct challenges in coordinating athlete development across sports, seasons, and limited resources.

Through Gold March Sports, Greg has also coached and advised elite international athletes, including national-record-setting competitors in Sri Lanka.

From introducing young athletes to track and field to preparing international competitors for elite performance, these experiences have shaped his belief that effective coaching and sustainable development systems are inseparable.

Our Philosophy

Develop Athletes — and the Systems That Develop Them.

Improving athletic performance requires more than a collection of effective workouts.

It requires coaches who understand the principles behind their training, administrators who support a coherent developmental approach, and environments that help athletes thrive over time.

Gold March works across two complementary dimensions:

Developing Athletes

Building strength, speed, power, coordination, movement skills, and the physical foundations for long-term athletic development.

Developing Systems

Supporting the coaches, leaders, organizations, and communities responsible for creating meaningful development opportunities.

Our approach integrates research-informed training, practical coach education, adaptable programming, and an understanding of the complex demands athletes face across multiple sports and activities.

We believe the greatest long-term impact comes not simply from coaching athletes, but from strengthening the people and systems that support them.

Through initiatives such as Gold March ELEVATE, we aim to make sophisticated athlete-development principles practical and sustainable within everyday school sport.
